This page describes personal data management for users of the thequiz.zone website, in accordance with the 2016/679 EU Regulation (GDPR).
Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect data with the aim of supporting and improving your navigation experience. Through their use it is possible to identify the device that accessed the website, limited to data stored by cookies, as specified next.
thequiz.zone stores cookies to save and manage users session data, allowing them to access personal pages when registered, and storing the settings of the selected language in order to provide an adequate service. Without these functionalities, it would not be possible to play any game with The Quiz Zone.
For the management of some session data and answers during the quiz game, some data are also stored in a database on a server located in Germany. The only data stored by The Quiz Zone are located on that database. Users can fully see and modify their data as they wish directly from their private area on the website. Personal data include: username, e-mail address, avatar, Facebook user id (if the user registered with Facebook), credits and/or subscriptions associated with each user, registration to the newsletter. These data are used to allow users to securely log in (also through Facebook), retrieve password if lost, receive newsletter if requested, and have a more personalized experience by providing any username and an optional avatar. Deletion of all personal data may be requested via e-mail (see link below), using the same e-mail address used in the game an specifying the associated username. Please be aware that data deletion is permanent. Session data stored in the database are solely used to allow users play live games, storing the answers they provided to questions (deleted after the answer is revealed) and storing their login status in a game (deleted at the end of the game).
Third-party cookies are also used: for checking acceptance of the cookie policy (through a Wordpress extension named GDPR Cookie Consent), and for website traffic analysis (through Google Analytics). Traffic analysis performed using Google Analytics are aggregate and anonymous.
